Rau rider

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rau riders are unofficially called the motorcycle patrol officers in Stuttgart .

On the initiative of the then Stuttgart Police President Paul Rau , motorcycles were put into service with the police in the 1960s based on the American model.

Because of their mobility, they are used in traffic monitoring and traffic controls. The motorcycle police escort state guests and accompany large-scale transports.
