The club was founded in 1907 under the name Britannia FC. The club was able to win 14 championships under this name. In 2009 the club was renamed FC Britannia XI. In the 2013/14 season, the club won the championship in the Gibraltar Division 2 and returned to the top division of Gibraltar.
