FC nerds
FC Nerds is a television format that was developed by the Scandinavian media company Nordisk Film as a variant of reality TV . It was first broadcast in Denmark as FC Zulu by TV 2 Zulu .
The film team accompanies a group of inexperienced young men who are to be formed into a team by a professional soccer coach . At the end of the training there is a game against a professional club.
FC Zulu was nominated for the 2005 International Emmy Award in the Non-Scripted Entertainment category, but did not win it.
The program format was broadcast in Denmark , Sweden , Norway , the Netherlands , Belgium , Finland , Iceland , Hungary and Australia . The German adaptation was broadcast on RTL II under the title Borussia Banana in 2005 . The team, which was coached by Lothar Matthäus , lost the widely announced final match against an all-star selection from FC St. Pauli in the last broadcast .
