The football club Osthofen eV is a German football club based in the Rhineland-Palatinate city ​​of Osthofen .

history

Founded until the 1950s

The club was originally founded as the successor to FC Ostova 02 Osthofen in 1910 as FV 1910 Osthofen . In 1913 this club was then renamed FC Ostova Osthofen. From 1933 on, the TG 1848 Osthofen was added as a football department . After the end of the Second World War, the club was called SG Vorwärts Osthofen from 1946 . Under this name, the team rose to the 1947/48 season in the Landesliga Rheinhessen . After the first season, they finished fourth with 24:20 points. In the next season , however, it should only be enough for ninth place. For the 1949/50 season, the club then moved to the Landesliga Vorderpfalz, where, however, at the end of the season it took the very last place and thus had to be relegated. Also in 1949 the club was renamed FC Ostova Osthofen again .

2000s until today

For the 2003/04 season, the club then merged with BC 1951 Osthofen to form FSV 03 Osthofen. In this season a B-team played in the Worms district league and finished 10th there with 35 points. The first team then started in the 2004/05 season in the Rheinhessen district league and finished fifth there with 50 points at the end of the season. For the next season, the B-team became the regular second team. At the end of the 2006/07 season, the team then finished eleventh in the league, which meant relegation to the district class was due for the next season. This could be finished in eighth place with 38 points. After the 2011/12 season, another relegation followed with 16th place. Thus, the team played in the 2012/13 season in the Worms district league , where they finished tenth with 37 points. In the 2013/14 season, the team even had to compete in the B-class, where with second place participation in the promotion relegation could be secured. The first and second leg against TuS GW Wendelstein could then be won 2-1. Thus, the club entered the A-class for the next season. However, with only 16 points at the end of the season, relegation was imminent. In the 2015/16 season in the B-Class, the team was able to qualify for the relegation again with second place. After the first and second leg against VfL Gundersheim , the promotion could not be made due to the poor goal difference. The club still plays in the B-Class to this day.
