Tommy Nelson

Thomas Daniel "Tommy" Nelson (born December 7, 1997 in West Haven , Connecticut ) is an American actor .

Career

Tommy Nelson took on his first role in front of the camera at the age of eight in 2006 with a guest role in the series Rescue Me . He then played the child General Sullivan in the thriller The Good Shepherd, portrayed by Robert De Niro . In 2007 he appeared in the comedy The 10 Commandments Movie in the role of Noah Jennings and was then seen as Jimmy Ray in the tragic comedy Then She Found Me .

In 2010, Nelson starred as Jimmy White in the Western En route to Oregon . A year later he appeared in a small role in the horror film The Woman . In 2012 he starred as Nickleby in Wes Anderson's comedy film Moonrise Kingdom . In 2016 he appeared as Buzz in the drama Barry , which is about the academic years of the future US President Barack Obama . In 2017 Nelson starred as Neil in the drama My Friend Dahmer . In 2019 he appeared as Russell in Alex Wolff's drama film The Cat and the Moon .

In addition to his film appearances, Nelson also appears regularly in guest roles on television, including Criminal Intent , Mildred Pierce , Boardwalk Empire , Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , The Path , Gotham , Blindspot , Better Call Saul and FBI .

Personal

Tommy Nelson is from West Haven, where he attended West Haven High School. He plays the guitar and has performed in the theater since his youth. He is an avowed fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and played football himself while at school. After graduation, he attended Pace University's College of Performing Arts in New York City from 2015 to 2017 . He broke off his studies in 2018 to focus entirely on acting.
