The Solingen football club 1895 eV (short: FC Solingen 95 ) was a sports club from Solingen . The first soccer team once took part in the West German soccer championship.

history

The association was founded in 1895. From 1906 onwards, the club belonged to the top division of the time, the A-class mountain . In 1913 Solingen secured the championship of the Rheinisches Nordkreis with a 2-0 final victory over VfvB Ruhrort and qualified for the West German championship in 1913 , where the team failed 2-1 in the semi-finals against Arminia Bielefeld . In the following years the team commuted between the highest and second highest division. From 1939 the club formed a syndicate with local rivals BSV Solingen 98 .

After the end of the war , the club initially played at the district level and in 1951 made it to the district class. In 1953 it went back down to the district class, where the immediate rise again succeeded. With a predominantly home-grown team succeeded in 1956 as runner-up behind SpVgg Hilden, promotion to the national league . In the promotion season, Solingen achieved a 12-0 victory over SV Mönchengladbach . In 1961 he was relegated to the district class, which from then on became the club's sporting home. On April 24, 1970, FC Solingen 95 merged with BSV Solingen 98 to form Solinger SC 95/98 .
