The SV Mönchengladbach (officially: Mönchengladbacher Sportverein 1910 eV ) is a sports club from the Mönchengladbach district of Lürrip . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in the Lower Rhine region.

history

The association was founded in 1910 as BV Lürrip . Three years later it became TSV Lürrip . The football department became independent in 1924 as part of the clean divorce as SV Lürrip . From 1956 the association bears its current name. In sporting terms, the Lürripers succeeded in advancing to the then first-class Rheingauliga in 1922 , which they held until 1927. After the end of the Second World War , the Lürriper initially played at the district level and in 1948 they made it to the district class. In 1956 he was runner-up behind local rivals Germania Geistenbeck and made it to the Lower Rhine regional league .

As the knocked-down bottom of the table, it promptly went back to the district class. The low point of the season was a 12-0 defeat at FC Solingen 95 . In 1960 it went down to the district class. A few years later the club experienced a rapid boom. In 1965, Lürriper was promoted three times in a row to the Niederrhein Association , the highest amateur league on the Lower Rhine at the time. As the bottom of the table , the team had to be relegated again. The direct resurgence was missed in 1967 as runner-up behind the Hülser FC , before it went down to the district class in 1974 and down to the district class in 1976.

In the following years the Lürriper became an elevator crew . In 1985, the team reached the regional league again after two consecutive promotions, before going back down to the district league A. From 2011 to 2014 the Lürriper played again in the regional league, and since relegation in 2014 they have been in the district league.
