The German Façade Award for ventilated curtain façades (VHF) has been awarded every two years since 1999. The award goes to buildings in Germany that are outstanding in terms of design, technology and economy with curtain-type, rear-ventilated facades. The award is presented by the Association of Ventilated Curtain Facades (FVHF), Berlin, in cooperation with the Institute for International Architecture Documentation , Munich.

price

The prize is awarded for facade concepts of high architectural quality and a successful integration into the environment, possibly taking into account the protection of monuments . Precise detailing and implementation as well as innovative energy concepts and sustainable building use are also taken into account.

Approx. 100 projects are submitted for each award, from which a prize winner and, if necessary, other awards and recognitions are selected. The expert jury is made up of architecture experts and the winners of the previous award.

The Federal Foundation for Building Culture describes the award as one of the "nationwide significant prizes in the field of building culture ".

The German Facade Prize for VHF was awarded in 2011 and 2013 in the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt am Main.

A publication in which the nominated works are documented is published for each award.
