Buildings

According to the journalist and architecture critic Klaus-Dieter Weiss, "clear lines", "light floating structures" and "simple materials" are characteristic of buildings by Allmann Sattler Wappner Architects. In 1997 the architecture office received the German Architecture Prize for the Samuel von Pufendorf High School in Flöha . It was the first major project by Allmann Sattler Wappner Architects, which at the same time made the company known nationwide. The building was recognized as “a monument of the social without monumentality”. By the end of the 1990s, Allmann Sattler Wappner Architekten had developed into a "bearer of hope" for modern German architecture, as Niklas Maak and Gerhard Matzig wrote in the Süddeutsche Zeitung .

In 2000, a controversial new building for the architectural office was opened with the Herz-Jesu-Kirche in Munich. It is a glass cube whose portal can be opened completely. In 2002 Allmann Sattler Wappner received greater attention for a training and administration building for the employers' association Südwestmetall in Reutlingen . The entire facade was completely clad with stainless steel panels, which connected the individual structures into one unit. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung recognized this as an “aesthetic innovation” that immediately caught the eye. In 2001, SZ-Magazin launched a competition for a house of the future that was to be built on the grounds of the Federal Garden Show in Munich. Allmann Sattler Wappner Architekten won the tender with a design that combines several independent structures into one house. The House of the Present was officially opened in 2005.
