The Münchner Tor is an 88-meter-high Munich Re high-rise office building in Parkstadt Schwabing .

description

The development of the project was carried out by the subsidiary MEAG Munich Ergo Assetmanagement GmbH (then under the name: MEAG Real Estate Management GmbH). In July 2003 the building was inaugurated after around two years of construction. The Münchner Tor was built according to the plans of the architectural office Allmann Sattler Wappner (ASW). It consists of a low-rise building and an office tower connected to it. The latter has two basement floors, a ground floor, a gallery floor and twenty-one upper floors and reaches a height of 85 m (88 m with superstructures). The low-rise building also has two basement floors and six upper floors (with roof structures). A total of around 1200 employees work in both buildings.

The name Münchner Tor was chosen because the building with the Highlight Towers opposite forms a gate for the Middle Ring , which runs between the high-rise buildings.

After completion, the office building was occupied by several departments of Munich Re. From 2018, the offices of the subsidiary MEAG, which was originally also responsible for the development of the project, will be located in the building.
