Radio FM1 is a Swiss radio station that was created in 2008 from the merger of Radio Ri and Radio Aktuell. The program is broadcast from St. Gallen . CH Media , a joint venture between the NZZ media group and AZ Medien , has been the owner of Radio FM1 since 2018 . CH Media started operations on October 1, 2018. Previously, the radio belonged to the NZZ media group.

History & Numbers

Radio FM1 began broadcasting on May 7, 2008. According to its own information based on data from Publica Data AG , it has around 235,000 listeners a day (as of the 2nd semester of 2019). This has made it one of the most popular private radio stations in Switzerland for years.

In addition to the radio program, Radio FM1 operates the regional online news portal FM1Today , which publishes news, service and entertainment for the broadcast area.

On July 1, 2018, Radio FM1 returned the license in order to have "more freedom in terms of content" and to be able to use "potential in cooperation with other broadcasters".

In the first semester of 2020, Mediapulse confirmed with the official listener numbers that the FM1-Wachmacher is the most popular morning show on Swiss private radio.

FM1 can be received via VHF in the cantons of St. Gallen, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and in parts of the cantons of Graubünden, Thurgau, Glarus, Schwyz and Zurich and throughout the Principality of Liechtenstein. In addition, FM1 can be received via DAB + throughout German-speaking Switzerland. The station can also be streamed via the Radio FM1 website. In addition, various music channels such as B. On Saturday, FM1 will broadcast live between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. The 30 most popular songs of the week are played on the FM1 listener charts between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. On Sundays, the moderated broadcast day begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m. During the unmoderated times, "The best music mix - non-stop" runs.
