The Browning BDM (Browning Double Mode) is a semi-automatic pistol in caliber mm 9 , made in the USA by FN manufacturing Inc., a subsidiary of the Belgian company FN Herstal . The pistol was marketed as a product of the Browning Arms Companywhich is also a subsidiary of FN. In 1997 the "BDM Standard", "BDM Silver Chrome" and "BDM Praktical" variants with a 10-round magazine were offered. The "BDM-D" variant was produced from 1997 to 1998 and replaced by the successor "BRM". From 2004 onwards, 15-round magazines were also legally available to private individuals on the North American market. A special feature of the weapon is that it can fire either in Double Action Mode (usual mode for pistols) or in Double Action Only Mode (mode for revolvers). The modes are selected using the rotary knob. The handle of the BDM is narrow compared to other weapons that have a similar magazine capacity.
