The FSV Teutonia Obernau is a German football club based in Obernau a part of the Bavarian city of Aschaffenburg . For the 1974/75 season, the club qualified for the first round of the DFB Cup .

history

Foundation and participation in the DFB-Pokal

The club was founded in 1912 and joined the South German Football Association in 1919/1920. In 1938 the championship in the A-class was achieved. Until the early 1950s, nothing more is known about the other league classes. Around 1952, the team rose again to the A-class and was able to hold this league until 1972. As the Lower Franconian Cup winner, the club then qualified for the 1974/75 season, as the first representative from the B-Class for the first round of the DFB Cup. There the team failed in the first round on September 7, 1974 at Usinger TSG 3-2.

Promotion to the regional league

For the next season, however, the promotion to the A-class again succeeded, which the club could only belong to until 1979 this time. After an unsuccessful relegation to the renewed promotion to the A-class in 1987, the promotion was only possible again in 1989. In 1991 there was even promotion to the district league. Another promotion took place in 1993 in the national league, in which the team was able to hold up until 2001.

Fall all the way back to the A-Class

In 2005, the first team went down to the district league, from which they should then be relegated to the district league for another year. Another year later it finally went down to the district class. There the team was able to hold out for longer than a season for the first time. In 2009, after a relegation game, it went further down to the A-class.

Resurgence from 2010

As second in the A-Class, the team managed to get promoted again immediately after the 2009/10 season with 69 points. Back in the district class, the league was then held in 9th place with 34 points. Due to the 13th place and only 26 points, the club then had to endure another relegation game after the 2012/13 season. This finally ended with a 2: 4 defeat against the second team of TuS Röllbach, with which the team had to relegate to the A-class. After the 2013/14 season, the team landed in second place with 58 points, which meant that they were allowed to participate in the relegation for promotion back to the district class. The game on June 1st 2014 at SV Hörstein was then won with 1: 2 and that with the second team of TSV Keilberg with 1: 3. Thus, the team was able to compete again in the district class for the 2014/15 season, where with 42 points in sixth place the relegation could be secured. After the following season, he came second with 52 points and thus participated in another promotion relegation. The game against TV Wasserlos for promotion to the district league was then lost 3-0. After the 2018/19 season, the promotion finally succeeded with first place and 65 points. Since the 2019/20 season, the club has been playing in the district league again.
