Fussl Modestraße is an Austrian fashion retail company based in Ort im Innkreis, Upper Austria . Fussl Modestraße Mayr GmbH employs around 1,200 people, 95% of whom are women. The company has been family-owned since it was founded in 1871, currently in the 5th generation. The company has 155 branches in Austria, 130 of which operate under the name of Fussl. In addition, 20 Esprit stores are operated as franchisees . The company has around 30 branches in Germany. In the 2014 financial year, the company generated sales of 114 million euros.

history

The company was founded in 1871 by Felix Fussl as a grocery and small department store in Ort. His grandson Karl Mayr (1936–2020) took over the management in 1963. The first branch was opened in 1981 in Ried im Innkreis. In 1996 the management of the 15 branches was handed over to the eldest sons Karl and Ernst Mayr.

In 2007, Fussl Modestraße GmbH was listed among the top 500 growth companies in Europe. In 2015, Fussl Modestrasse was named “Best Family Company in Austria 2015” by the Wirtschaftsblatt.

In 2016, the company expanded to Germany with the opening of the first branch in Pfarrkirchen . By 2020, the number of locations in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria had grown to more than 30.

The company sells around 80 percent of its own brands, which are produced in the Czech Republic, Turkey and Asia. The quality of the production there is guaranteed by partner agencies as well as personal visits. The procurement process for your own organic collection can be tracked from the farmer to the producer using a code on the sew-in label on the company's website.
