The FVgg. 08 Mühlacker eV is a German sports club founded in 1920 with headquarters in the Baden-Württemberg town of Mühlacker in the Enzkreis .
history
Predecessor clubs
The first football club Dürrmenz-Mühlacker emerged in 1908 from a group of athletes who wanted to bring the already recognized football from neighboring Pforzheim to their homeland . As early as 1911, another club, called Sportfreunde Dürrmenz, was established in what is now the Dürrmenz district. Nothing is known about how the two clubs played until the beginning of the First World War. Until then, both clubs shared a sports field. Due to the reduced number of members, both associations decided to merge in 1920 to form Fvgg 08 Dürrmenz-Mühlacker .
Beginning until World War II
From the start, the club moved relatively quickly to the A-class, in which the club was able to hold its own. For the 1926/27 season, the club then even moved up to the district league through a decision by the association. After the 1930/31 season, he also won the title of district champion. Since the district league of Württemberg / Baden allowed only 10 participants at this time, the team had to play in a playoff against VfR Heilbronn , which was then lost 2-1 in Heilbronn .
After the National Socialists came to power, the entire league structure was changed and the club played in the Württemberg football region from that season on. For financial reasons, however, the club moved back to the football region of Baden for the next season. The financial situation and increased player emigration ultimately led to relegation to the district league, which is now a class lower, even after the 1935/36 season. This was followed by two championship titles in a row, after which the team did not make promotion in both cases. After a third championship after the 1938/39 season, he was finally promoted to the district league. Due to the outbreak of the Second World War, the number of players decreased again, nothing is known about the class they belonged to during this time. However, the game operation could probably be maintained throughout the war.
post war period
In October 1945 a team was formed again and won the championship in the first season. In the qualifying game that followed, the club was defeated by SpVgg Dillweißstein , but was still allowed to move up to the then second-class regional league North Baden . The 1946/47 season then closed the team with 21:39 points in 12th place in the group south from which the league could be held. After the 1947/48 season , the league became single-track, which meant that the number of participants had to be greatly reduced for the next season. One of these clubs was the FVgg, which had to be relegated by 9:43 points and 13th place.
Elevator crew status
After several relegations and placements in the top 3, the team finally had to relegate to the A-class after the 1953/54 season . After the 1955/56 season, the championship could finally be celebrated in this class. The team then rose to the 2nd amateur league . In this, however, the team could not hold out long and rose again after the 1956/57 season in the A-class . This was able to leave the team after the 1959/60 season with the championship title but again in the direction of the 2nd amateur league . After just one season, the team had to leave the league again. Another rise followed after the 1963/64 season, this time the league membership in the 2nd amateur league lasted at least two seasons. The next promotion out of the A-Class followed after the 1968/69 season. This time they finally managed to stay in the league for at least a few years.
Decline from the 1970s
The time in the 2nd amateur league should survive until the 1974/75 season, after which the team had to relegate to the A-class . After the 1976/77 season, a regional league between the amateur league and the A-class was introduced through a reallocation in the Pforzheim football district . For this league, however, the football association could not qualify and thus remained in the A-class , but had to be relegated to the league level from the next season. After the 1977/78 season, things went even further down to what was then the lower class, the B-class . It would take until the 1980/81 season before the team was allowed to move up to the A-class again. After one season, the team from this league had to be relegated again. After the 1983/84 season, the rise of the district league and district league from 14 to 16 teams finally succeeded again. Already after the 1985/86 season it was back to the B-Class via last place. The team would then belong to this class for many years. It was only after the 1994/95 season that the company was promoted back to the A-Class. After a few back places in the following seasons, the team had to relegate only after the 1997/98 season.
Current time
It should take until the 2012/13 season before the team with the championship title and 63 points from the district class B was allowed to rise again to the district class A. After the 2014/15 season, the team had to take part in the relegation with only 19 points due to the 15th place. After a 5: 3 nE against 1. FC Schellbronn , the team was allowed to remain in the league. To this day, the team belongs to the district class A.
