Fabian Knecht

Fabian Knecht (born March 1, 1980 in Magdeburg ) is a German artist . He lives and works in Berlin .

Knecht studied fine arts at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and at the California Institute of the Arts . He graduated in 2014 with Olafur Eliasson at the Institute for Space Experiments as a master class student . Knecht is known for his performative works of art in public spaces. His work has been shown in the MSU - Museum for Contemporary Art in Zagreb , at the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art, in the Neue Nationalgalerie , in Hamburger Bahnhof (Berlin), in the Imperial War Museum in London and in the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden . He is represented by the alexander levy gallery (Berlin) and the Christophe Gaillard gallery (Paris). In 2019 Knecht received the Erich Hauser Workshop Prize.
