Fabius Sabinus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fabius Sabinus (his praenomen is not known) was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD .

A military diploma proves that Sabinus 122 was prefect of Ala I Pannoniorum Tampiana , which was stationed in the province of Britannia at the time. Another diploma, dated August 22, 139, proves that he was 139 Prefect of the Roman fleet stationed in Ravenna ( classis praetoria Ravennas ).

Remarks

  1. According to Werner Eck , Andreas Pangerl, the prefect of the Ala and the prefect of the fleet are probably the same Fabius Sabinus. Between these two commands, Sabinus is likely to have taken on other procuratorial tasks.
