Fabrizio Ruggirello

Fabrizio Ruggirello (* 1963 in Sainte-Adresse , France) is an Italian screenwriter and film director .

Life

Ruggirello comes from a Sicilian family; his father was a diplomat and worked in France, where Ruggirello spent his childhood and youth. After studying at the “Scuola Nazionale di Cinema”, he gained experience in several fields of work in the field of film. He worked as an actor, assistant director and producer of Enrico Caria's debut 17 (1992). The year before he made his debut as a director based on his own script with America, which was filmed in Venezuela . The film starring Julian Sands took until the beginning of 1993 to release and received many festival screenings, but found little use on the commercial market.

After this economic failure, Ruggirello turned to advertising and also made some music clips for u. a. Andrea Febo and Mario Venuti . In addition, documentaries and short films were made , which received numerous awards. In 2003 he won the prize for best director of a short film at the Taormina Arte Festival for his work Veramente . In 2014 he wrote anime that was filmed by Francesco Munzi . Ruggirello received several awards for this script, such as B. with a Nastro d'Argento .
