mythology

The Fabula Nova Crystallis games share a story of creation. The creation story begins with the victory of the god Bhunivelze over his mother, the goddess Mwynn. After this victory, Bhunivelze takes his mother's place as ruler of the world. Mwynn then disappeared into the unseen world. The visible world was doomed and Bhunivelze believed that his mother had cursed the world. To break this curse, Bhunivelze wanted to wipe out his mother. But to do this, he first had to find the gateway to the unseen world where his mother was waiting. It was only with his will that he created the first Fal'Cie Pulse, whose task it was to open the world and find the gateway to Mwynn. The second Fal'Cie was Bhunivelze Etro. However, this was designed in the image of his mother, which is why Bhunivelze feared her and gave her no strength. Bhunivelze therefore created the Fal'Cie Lindzei. Lindzei's job was to protect Bhunivelze from anyone who wanted to destroy him and Lindzei should also raise him again when the time was right. He then froze to crystal and fell asleep.

Pulse, who wanted to enlarge the world, and Lindzei, who wanted to protect the world, created numerous other Fal'Cie and L'Cie. Etro could not do anything as she had received no power from Bhunivelze. She thought of her mother, in whose image she was made, and tore herself away from her body. Her blood poured onto the earth and Etro disappeared from the visible world. Humanity arose from the blood that flowed on earth. Creatures that only exist to die. However, the demise of the visible world was not Mwynn's curse, but fate. The world was divided into a visible and an invisible half. If the equilibrium between the two parts were to cease, the entire world would be destroyed. But Mwynn couldn't do anything about it, as she was engulfed in the chaos of the invisible world. Shortly before Mwynn's death, Etro came to her. This ordered Mwynn to protect the balance of the world. After that, she was finally engulfed in chaos. However, Etro did not understand the meaning of Mwynn's words and she was lonely. However, she felt connected to the people who only lived to die. When the people died, Etro was happy and gave them chaos. People called the chaos they got from Etro heart. The hearts of the people would become their strength, but they did not yet know anything about it. After a short time they called Pulse the mighty ruler, Lindzei they called their protector and Etro they called death. People lived with chaos in the visible world. With the chaos so close to them, the world was back in balance. Bhunivelze, meanwhile, slept on as a crystal until the end of eternity.
