Factiva is a commercial database for press, company and economic information offered by Dow Jones ( host (database provider ) ). Factiva's media pool includes around 35,000 news sources from 200 countries in 26 languages, including newspapers, magazines, images and more than 400 news agencies. The Wall Street Journal and the Dow Jones and Reuters news agencies are exclusive to Factiva . Factiva also provides company profiles, financial and fund data, historical market data as well as web and blog content.

history

In May 1999, Dow Jones and Reuters founded a joint venture called Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive, which bundled the archive products of the two companies. The company was renamed Factiva in November 1999.

Factiva developed modules in collaboration with Microsoft , Oracle Corp. , IBM and Yahoo! and cooperated with companies such as EuroSpider, Comintell, PeopleSoft , MediaMap, Biz360, ChoicePoint , BTRadianz, AtHoc and Reuters.

With the takeover of the British reputation and technology specialist 2B Reputation Intelligence Limited, Factiva built up the product line for media analysis in 2005. As part of Hill & Knowlton, 2B developed applications for media analysis and reputation management and had an expert pool of media and communication professionals.

In 2006, Reuters sold its 50 percent stake in Factiva to Dow Jones for the equivalent of 128 million euros. Factiva was integrated as a product line into Dow Jones' Enterprise Media Group.

As a product of Dow Jones, Factiva was integrated into Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation Company in 2007 .

Dow Jones is also the world's leading provider of stock market, financial and business news. In addition, Dow Jones supports customers in consistently minimizing compliance risks.
