features
The 10 cm long bird is gray-brown on the top, cream-white on the underside and has brown-yellow flanks, a white face, a black forehead line and a white tip of the tail.
Occurrence
The pale-back white forehead lives in open, dry areas of South Australia.
behavior
The sociable bird lives in flocks of 15 to 20 animals, sometimes even up to 50. It looks for seeds and invertebrates on the ground. Nectar and soft fruits complement the diet.
Reproduction
The pale-back white forehead builds a messy, spherical nest with a side entrance in low bushes or tree hollows.
