Fahrradmod is a work by the German comic artist Tobi Dahmen . It is a partially autobiographical graphic novel based on the webcomic of the same name , which Tobi Dahmen created from 2011 and with which he came second in the " Sondermann Webcomic Award " in 2011 at the Frankfurt Book Fair .

Fahrradmod is a coming-of-age story in the context of the youth cultures of mods , scooter boys and skinheads and was published by Carlsen Verlag in 2015 .

Tobi grew up in the small town of Wesel . As a teenager, he got to know the subculture of mods, which he felt he belonged to from then on. Also skinheads and scooters Boys then play an important role. In addition to clothing, music is particularly attractive, especially ska and northern soul .

The comic describes Tobi's personal internal and external developments from the mid-1980s until today and shows his experiences along the way.
