Shipping area
Under ride area is understood in the shipping a defined by one or more Reeder, geographically delimited area of application in maritime shipping. The driving area is not identical to the driving area . This includes the shipping area.
In the past, the following shipping areas were defined based on the North Sea and Baltic Sea ports (selection):
- Levante with ports in the southern Mediterranean
- North / Baltic Sea with ports in the Baltic States, Scandinavia and Benelux
- Northern continent u. a. with the ports of Le Havre , Felixstowe , Antwerp , Rotterdam , Bremerhaven and Hamburg
- Mexico / US Gulf with the ports of Veracruz , Houston , New Orleans , Tampa
- SAWK (South America West Coast) with the ports of Colón (Cristobal), Buenaventura , Guayaquil , Callao , Arica , Antofagasta and Valparaíso
- Great Lakes with the ports of Québec , Montreal , Toronto , Detroit , Milwaukee and Chicago
- Red Sea with the ports of Aqaba , Jeddah , al-Hudaida , Port Sudan
In more general terms, one can distinguish between the continents in global shipping today (e.g. Europe – Asia, Europe – North America east coast)
