In the Middle Ages, the Lords of Faimingen were a local noble family in the village of Faimingen , which today belongs to the district of Dillingen an der Donau as part of the city of Lauingen .

history

The lords of Faimingen owned the village of Faimingen by the second half of the 12th century at the latest. They built a castle, of which only small remains are left. Walter II von Faimingen was married to Adelheid Späth von Steinhart, whose family was based at Steinhart Castle . Since the lords of Faimingen became extinct in the male line, the Späth von Steinhart inherited the property in Faimingen and called themselves Spät von Faimingen from 1267.
