In the registered association fair in der TK eV, or fairTK for short , the employees of the Techniker Krankenkasse (Die Techniker) and TK Gesundheit GmbH are organized into a workers' association. The association was founded in August 2005 by members of the TK staff representation bodies and acts as a collective bargaining party in TK in cooperation with the Social Insurance Union (GdS) .

The part of the name "fair" is the acronym for f rei, a ctive, i nnovativ and r ealistisch.

history

The deciding factor for the establishment of its own employee representative body was the refusal of the collective bargaining party at the time to sign collective agreements that were requested by both TK as an employer and the workforce . As a result, the employees wanted to shape their own working conditions independently of the conditions of the co-applicants.

In the first election to the main staff council of TK, the fairTK list received almost 90% of the votes. The collective bargaining agreements concluded since the foundation were each approved by the members with a very large majority.

Members

According to its own information, fairTK has more than 7,500 members (as of October 2018) and thus a degree of organization of 55%.

The highest body of the association is the general assembly, which according to the statutes meets every five years. The general assembly elects the advisory board from among its ranks . The advisory board consists of the elected members and their deputies as well as the fairTK board . The advisory board currently consists of a total of 21 members. The board of directors manages the business and represents the association externally. It consists of a first and second chairman , a secretary , a treasurer and an assessor.

So far, the organization of an employee representation as an association in cooperation with an established trade union has been a unique selling point of fairTK.

In contrast to other unions, all committee and association members, including the board of directors, work exclusively for the association on a voluntary basis . There is no payment of flat-rate expense allowances. The members organized in fairTK are exclusively employees of TK or TK Gesundheit. The representation therefore takes place according to the principle “by employees for employees”.

The vote on the adoption of collective agreements carried out by all members of fairTK. A nationwide network of so-called fairBinders ensures that members are looked after locally.

FairTK offers an extensive range of seminars for the further training of the personnel representation bodies, which in addition to the basics of the Federal Personnel Representation Act (BPersVG) also includes further training on TK's collective agreements.
