The Fairchild Beach is a 1.5 km long and 500 m wide sandy beach on the east side of the island Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . It extends north of the base of Round Hill to the south side of the mouth of the Compton Glacier .
The name Fairchild's Beach had been in use with US seal hunters since at least 1857. The naming background has not survived.
