Vespa 150
The Vespa 150 was a motor scooter from the manufacturer Piaggio , which sells its classic product line under the brand name Vespa . The Vespa 150 was offered unchanged from 1954 to 1979 and became a successful model with 1.187 million units built.
Model history
The components of the construction already used in the Vespa 98 were the pressed steel frame with integrated front cladding, the interchangeable wheels, a motor-gear unit ( drive train swing arm ) on the rear wheel and the front wheel guided by a drawn single-arm short swing arm . The Vespa 150 was developed by Hoffmann in 1954 as a response to the enhanced performance license model and was mass-produced in 1955. In the 1958 model year, it was the first Vespa to be equipped with a rotary valve control. and 1959 becomes the ratio of oil and fuel of mixture lubricationreduced from 1:20 to 1:50. In the series called VBB, built from 1960, 4-speed transmissions were used for the first time. The last series with self-ventilating brake drums was marketed as the Vespa 150 Super . Externally, it can be recognized by its slightly angular shape and the five slots on the motor side.
