Fairfield Horseshoe
The Fairfield Horseshoe is a circular walk and the venue for a mountain run in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . The path has no fixed direction in which it has to be completed. A start is possible in both Rydal and Ambleside .
The hiking trail is 16 km long and has a total altitude difference of 1100 m.
The way leads through:
- Low Pike (508 m)
- High Pike (656 m)
- Dove Crag (792 m)
- Hart Crag (822 m)
- Fairfield (873 m)
- Great Rigg (766 m)
- Heron Pike (612 m)
- Nab Scar (440 m)
Since 1966, the Fairfield Fell Run has been held every year in May along the Fairfield Horseshoe over a distance of 14 km with a total height difference of 900 m.
