Fairview (Kentucky)

The most famous son of Fairview was Jefferson Davis, who later became known as President of the Confederate States of America.

Fairview is a small town on the border between Christian County and Todd Counties in the US state of Kentucky . The settlement is about halfway between the towns of Hopkinsville and Elkton . The establishment of the place is carried out in 1793 by a Mr. Samuel Davis. The same later (1802) opened a post office nearby. His son, later President of the Confederate States of America , Jefferson Davis , was born there in 1808.

Today there is therefore the Jefferson Davis State Historic Site in the place . The mighty, over 100 meters high, concrete-cast obelisk of the Davis Memorial, the Jefferson Davis Monument, is worth seeing .

In 2000, Fairview had a total of 72 residents who lived in the town's 32 houses.
