Christian County is a county in the state of Kentucky in the United States . The county seat is Hopkinsville , which was named after General Samuel Hopkins .

The county is located in southwest Kentucky, borders the state of Tennessee to the south and has an area of ​​1,875 square kilometers, of which seven square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise in Kentucky by the following counties: Hopkins County , Muhlenberg County , Todd County , Trigg County, and Caldwell Counties .

history

Christian County was formed on December 13, 1796 from parts of Logan County. It was named after Colonel William Christian , who was killed during a battle with Indians.
