The Anderson County is a county in the US state of Kentucky . The county seat is Lawrenceburg , named after William Lawrence , a local tavern owner.

The county is located slightly northeast of the geographic center of Kentucky and has an area of 529 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers are water. It borders on the following counties:

history
Anderson County was formed on January 16, 1827 from former parts of Franklin County, Mercer County and Washington County. It was named after Richard C. Anderson (1788-1826), a former member of the US House of Representatives (1817-1821).
On October 26, 1859 and January 13, 1915, the courthouse was almost completely destroyed. However, only insignificant documents were destroyed.
