The county seat is Marion , which was named after Francis Marion , a general in the American Revolutionary War . Crittenden County was formed on January 26, 1842 from parts of Livingston County. It was named after John J. Crittenden (1786–1863), a former governor of Kentucky (1848–1850).
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census , there were 9,315 people in 3,749 households in Crittenden County. The population density was 9.9 inhabitants per square kilometer. In the 3749 households there were statistically 2.45 people each.
