The Fulton County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Kentucky . In 2010 , the county had 6,813 people and a population density of 12.6 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Hickman , named after the wife of GWF Marr , who provided the land for the city's establishment.

The county is located in the extreme southwest of Kentucky and on the south by Tennessee and separated by the Mississippi on the northwest Missouri . Fulton County covers an area of 597 square kilometers, of which 56 square kilometers are water. The island located west of the Mississippi, about 35 km² in size, is part of Fulton County, as is the peninsula opposite New Madrid , MO in a Mississippi loop that can only be reached via the Tennessee area. Fulton County was formed on January 15, 1845 from parts of Hickman County. It was named after Robert Fulton , an inventor.
