Pendleton County is a county in the state of Kentucky in the United States . The county seat is Falmouth .

The county is located in northern Kentucky, borders with its northeastern tip on the state of Ohio , separated by the Ohio River and has an area of 730 square kilometers, of which three square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Kenton County , Campbell County , Bracken County , Harrison County, and Grant County .
history
Pendleton County was formed on December 4, 1798 from parts of Bracken County and Campbell County. It was named after Edmund Pendleton , a judge and governor of Virginia .

According to the 2000 census , Pendleton County had 14,390 people in 5,170 households and 3,970 families. The population density was 20 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 98.39 percent white, 0.49 percent African American, 0.19 percent Native American, 0.11 percent Asian, 0.01 percent of residents from the Pacific island area and 0.35 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 0.44 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 0.67 percent of the population.
Of the 5,170 households, 39.0 percent had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 62.8 percent were married couples living together, 9.6 percent were single mothers, 23.2 percent were non-families, 20.1 percent were single households and 8.3 percent had people aged 65 years or over. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.14.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 28.4 percent of residents under the age of 18, 8.5 percent between 18 and 24 years of age, 31.2 percent between 25 and 44 years of age, and 21.5 percent between 45 and 64 years of age 10.4 percent were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 100.3 males. For every 100 women 18 years of age or older there were statistically 97.9 men.
The median income for a household in the 38,125 USD , and the median income for a family was 42,589 USD. Males had a median income of $ 31,885 versus $ 23,234 for females. The per capita income was $ 16,551. 9.8 percent of families and 11.4 percent of the population are below the poverty line. Of these, 14.8 percent were children or adolescents under 18 years of age and 11.6 percent were people over 65 years of age.
