The Hickman County was formed on December 19, 1821 as the 27th County in Kentucky from parts of Caldwell County and Livingston County. It was named after Captain Paschal Hickman , who was killed at the Battle of River Raisin in 1813 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census , there were 4902 people in 2057 households in Hickman County. The population density was 7.7 people per square kilometer. Statistically, there were 2.33 people in each of the 2057 households.
