The Calloway County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Kentucky . In 2010 , the county had 37,191 residents and a population density of 37.2 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Murray , which was named after John L. Murray , a member of the US Congress .

The county is located in southwest Kentucky on the west bank of the Tennessee River dammed up to Kentucky Lake . history
Calloway County was formed on December 19, 1821 from parts of Hickman County. It was named after Colonel Richard Calloway , who was killed in the Indian War of 1780.
