Boone County is a county in the state of Kentucky in the United States . The county seat is Burlington .

The county is located in the extreme north of Kentucky, borders Ohio to the north and Indiana to the west , is separated from both by the Ohio River and has an area of 666 square kilometers, of which 28 square kilometers are water. In Kentucky, it is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Kenton County , Grant County, and Gallatin County .
history
Boone County was formed on December 13, 1798 from parts of Campbell County. It was named after the border guard Daniel Boone .

According to the 2000 census , Boone County had 85,991 people in 31,258 households and 23,443 families. The population density was 135 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 95.15 percent white, 1.52 percent African American, 0.23 percent Native American, 1.29 percent Asian, 0.03 percent of residents from the Pacific island area and 0.75 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 1.03 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.98 percent of the population.
Of the 31,258 households, 39.8 percent had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 61.6 percent were married couples living together, 9.8 percent were single mothers, 25.0 percent were non-families, 20.2 percent were single households and 6.2 percent had people aged 65 years or over. The average household size was 2.73 and the average family size was 3.17.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 28.7 percent of residents under the age of 18, 8.5 percent between 18 and 24 years of age, 33.5 percent between 25 and 44 years of age, and 21.3 percent between 45 and 64 years of age 8.1 percent were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 women 18 years of age or older there were statistically 94.7 men.
The median income for a household in the 53,593 US $ , and the median income for a family was $ 61,114. Males had a median income of $ 42,105 versus $ 27,414 for females. The per capita income was $ 23,535. 4.4 percent of families and 5.6 percent of the population were below the poverty line. 6.4 percent of these were children or adolescents under 18 years of age and 7.7 percent were people over 65 years of age.
