history

Lake County was formed on June 24, 1870 from parts of Obion County. It was named after Reelfoot Lake , a lake in this area that was formed by the New Madrid earthquake of 1811 .

A structure in the county is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as of August 18, 2018.
