Davidson County is a county in the US state of Tennessee in the United States . The county seat is Nashville .

The county is located northwest of the geographic center of Tennessee, is about 25 miles north of Kentucky and has an area of 1,363 square kilometers, of which 62 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Robertson County , Sumner County , Wilson County , Rutherford County , Williamson County, and Cheatham County .
history
Davidson County was formed on April 18, 1783 from parts of Washington County. It was named after William Lee Davidson , an American war hero who was killed in the Battle of Valley Forge .
Historical objects
- About 19 kilometers east of Nashville is the historic Hermitage . It was the residence of the seventh US President Andrew Jackson . It is located on US Route 70N, and was listed as a memorial by the NRHP in 1966 (NRHP ID 66000722).
Six locations in the county have National Historic Landmark status , including The Hermitage. 187 buildings and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (as of August 13, 2018).

According to the 2000 census , Davidson County had 569,891 people in 237,405 households and 138,169 families. The population density was 438 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 66.99 percent white, 25.92 percent African American, 0.29 percent Native American, 2.33 percent Asian, 0.07 percent of residents from the Pacific island area and 2.42 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 1.97 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.58 percent of the population.
Of the 237,405 households, 26.7 percent had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 39.9 percent were married couples living together, 14.3 percent were single mothers, and 41.8 percent were non-families. 33.4 percent were single households and 8.2 percent had people aged 65 years or over. The average household size was 2.30 and the average household size was 2.96 people.
22.2 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 11.6 percent between 18 and 24, 34.0 percent between 25 and 44, 21.1 percent between 45 and 64 and 11.1 percent were older than 65. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were statistically 93.8 males and for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 90.8 males.
The median income for a household in the 39,797 USD , and the median income for a family was 49,317 USD. Males had a median income of $ 33,844 versus $ 27,770 for females. The per capita income was $ 23,069. 10.0 percent of families and 13.0 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
