Perry County is a county in the state of Tennessee in the United States . The county seat is Linden .

The county is located in west-central Tennessee and has an area of ​​1095 square kilometers, of which 21 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Humphreys County , Hickman County , Lewis County , Wayne County , Decatur County, and Benton County .

Perry County was formed on November 14, 1818 from parts of Hickman County. It was named after Oliver Hazard Perry , a US naval officer in the British-American War .

The Hufstedler Gravehouse is one of the county's seven entries in the NRHP.

Seven structures and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (as of August 27, 2018).
