history

Haywood County was formed on November 3, 1823. It was named after John Haywood (1753–1826), an Attorney General and judge on the Tennessee Supreme Court . Haywood was also known by his nickname The father of Tennessee history .

The Joshua K. Hutchison House is one of ten entries of the county in the NRHP.
