Get Behind Me Satan is a rock music - album of the American band The White Stripes from the year 2005. 2006 it won the Grammy in the category " Best Alternative Music Performance ."

background

The album was recorded at Third Man Studios ( Detroit ) in February . After a little over a month in the recording studio , it was released under Peppermint Stripe Music in April. It was recorded without any great technical aids, which is reflected in the individual songs. Only Blue Orchid seems to be an exception. The name of the album "Get Behind Me Satan" refers to a quote from the Bible ( Mt 16.23  EU ):

“But Jesus turned around and said to Peter: Stand behind me, you Satan! You are a nuisance to me, because you do not have what God wants, but what people want. "

The previously dominant guitar, Jack White, takes a back seat on this album for the first time, while the piano comes to the fore.
