The Falakro ( Greek Φαλακρό , formerly Bos Dag . (Μποζ Νταγ, γκρι βουνό, Turkish = Gray Mountain)) is a mountain in the regional district Drama in the Greek Regin Eastern Macedonia and Thrace . Its highest peak, the Profitis Elias , rises to 2232 m above sea level . It is the highest mountain in the region and is connected to Orvilos in the west . In the east it slopes down to the valley of the Nestos , from where the western Rhodopes join. The northernmost winter sports center in Greece is located on the Falakro near Volakas (Βώλακας). The maximum difference in altitude between the slopes is 617 m.
