Fallow
color code: #FFFFCC
Falb is the typical name for the color of a pale yellow to light gray- brown fur. The use is particularly common for the coat color of cats , horses or dogs and wolves .
The restriction to coat colors is a narrowing of the term . Falb was a common color name until the end of the 19th century to express a color description from light to yellowish brownish gray. "Now there were some strange phenomena in which the fog became thinner and the mountain masses lying in the depths, illuminated [in the morning light], shimmered ghost-like and in the yellow color of the autumn vegetation." Or in Uhland's description of an autumn mood: "Gentle, sweet Spring songs? / Look around the pale trees! / Oh! They were lovely dreams. "
For the web design the color “falb” is included with the code #FFFFCC and on the “Netscape palette” this is assigned to the web-safe colors . The German word falb corresponds to 'fallow' ('pale yellowish-brown'), which also means fallow. For the color of the horse's coat, 'dun' applies. When it comes to human hair , one speaks of blonde .
For some animals and plants, 'Falb-' denotes a characteristic.
