The False Round Point ( English for False Rundspitze ) is a headland on King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 13.5 km west of the North Foreland and 3 km south of Ridley Island on the north coast of the island. It separates Corsair Bight in the west from Venus Bay in the east.
The headland has been known since 1822. Presumably it was named by participants in the British Discovery Investigations after a survey in 1937 based on the name of the Round Point located 20 km to the west .
