The Family Dogg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Family Dogg was a British pop group that existed from 1966 to 1976.

Career

The idea for this project was born in the summer of 1965 when the two British musicians Albert Hammond and Steve Rowland met at a concert in Madrid as singers for the Spanish groups Diamond Boys and Los Flaps. In 1966, together with Mike Hazlewood and the singer Christine Holmes, the group The Family Dogg was founded, which impressed with its harmony singing. In 1969 the album A Way of Life was released , the title song of which reached number 6 in the British charts in July 1969. The Led Zeppelin -members Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones have collaborated on this album as guest musicians. With the rare bird composition Sympathy there was a No. 2 hit in the Dutch charts in April 1970. 1972 saw the last album View from Rowland's Head with Ireen Sheer as singer and Chris Spedding as guest guitarist.
