Fanny Shonobi

Fanny Shonobi (born August 4, 1987 ) is a Gambian athlete .

Life

Shonobi's first documented competition is a runner-up at the National Youth Conference and Festival (Nayconf) in June 2001, where she finished second over 200 meters. In 2004 she took part in the Zone Two Championships with the national junior team and came second over 200 meters.

At the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi (India) she was the flag bearer of the Gambian team. Neither over 100 meters nor over 200 meters could she qualify for the final round.

At the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu (South Korea) she was the only Gambian starter and retired with 25.5 seconds with a last place in the prelim. In November of that year she was elected to the board of the Gambia Athletics Association (GAA) as the athletes' representative.

In 2012 she was able to achieve a 4th place over 200 meters (25.67 seconds) and a 5th place over 100 meters (12.67 seconds) at the African Athletics Championships in Porto-Novo (Benin).

Nothing is known about further participation in the competition and her further life.
