The Fardagafoss is a waterfall in the east of Iceland in the municipality Fljótsdalshérað .

The Miðhúsaá stream rises on the Fjarðarheiði and plunges 28 m down here. Above is the Gufufoss, which has a namesake in Seyðisfjörður . The stream is a right tributary of the Eyvindará, which flows north of the airport into the Lagarfljót .

There was a cave behind the waterfall. A legend says that whoever reaches it, a wish is fulfilled. The cave has since collapsed. The Icelandic word fardagar / travel days referred to the days in the seventh week of summer when the job was changed. At this time the waterfall has the most water because of the melting snow on Fjarðarheiði. The word fardagar also occurs in Fardagagras or Fardagakál , which are Icelandic names for the vegetable dock (Rumex longifolius DC.).
