Fariba Vafi
Fariba Vafi ( Persian فریبا وفی; Faribā Vafī; * January 21, 1963 in Tabriz , East Azerbaijan Province , Iran ) is an Iranian writer who belongs to the Azerbaijani ethnic group .
Life
After graduating from high school, Vafi began to publish short stories in Persian in various literary magazines in Iran such as Adineh . Her collections of short stories published in Iran were awarded prizes there. Several novels by the author followed by 2014.
Vafi does not speak any western foreign language. Since 2009 some of her works have been translated into Turkish, English, French and German. Since some of her books were published in German, she has given a number of readings in Germany. In 2017 she accepted the LiBeraturpreis at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
She lives in Tehran with her husband and two children .
