Farma Tami
Farma Tami (* † around 1540 ) was an African ruler of the Temne , warlord and was considered the founder of the Temne empire .
According to tradition, Tami came from the east with a large army and defeated all opponents before he reached the Rokel . There he built, in today Koya - Chiefdom its capital Robaga , near what is now Freetown . Possibly Tami was the leader of the Mane from which the Mandinka developed. They were known for their modern governance and knowledge of weaving and ironing since the early 1500s . Their warriors were considered very successful.
